Do One Brave Thing Today...

I've not had a lot to say here recently, then I saw this on my wall at work.   Life is too short to play it safe all the time.  Take the time to live your life and enjoy it and your family.  You can never tell when life will kick you down and out.

Last year at this time my right knee decided it was time for the arthritis to make it's self really felt.  I was off two days and 'hobbled' with a cane for almost three months.  It has taken me almost a year to get half way back to normal and added too many pounds with that sorry excuse for a knee.

Guess what happened last week, yep!  But it was the left knee.  This time I went to a Doctor and got lovely x-rays and a shot to the knee.  Also got a script for meds, which I find I'm allergic to, a lovely red rash in a place that can't be scratched in public!!!  LOL expect for when it itches.

So don't waste time waiting for the "RIGHT" moment in time, it may never come.  And if it does, you may not be able to do anything about it.  Enjoy life while you can...don't shuck the responsibilities, I'm not saying that, just make time.  It's not always easy, but it beats the alternative!  Have a good, I have to go ice my knee now.

  1. I literally "feel" your pain Jessica. My fight knee last July 09 twisted and it took me 3 months for the swelling to go down and another 4-5 months before it stopped giving out under me every time I put weight on it. Unlike you have not gone to the Doctor because part of my problem is being too heavy and not exercising and partly it is hereditary. Now like you have problems with my other knee too so guess it is time, time to take steps and time to stop ignoring the fact that if I do not take better care of myself now no one else can do it for me...

You are right life does knock us down but the attitude we adopt is what will put us right back on our feet and right now you have adopted the best one possible, stay with it and stay positive....

  2. Oh Jackie b...you are not alone, my biggest problem is weight. I lost 64 lbs four years ago and kept it off for two years, then of course, I start putting it back on. When my knee went out then it really piled back on, so I am back to square one. And that is life.

Don't let weight stop you from getting help. If I can help you...I will, I can listen if nothing else. Thanks for reading and commenting. It's nice to know there is someone out there!
