    No truer words were ever spoken or written about relationships.  The saving of someone doesn't always mean from some physical threat, it can also mean to protect them from their own sense of self deprecation and stupidity.  I mean  if, you die for someone, you are dead, then who is going to save them.  Most bad guys don't honor their word, it's why they are the bad guys.  DUH!!!

    The quote from Braking Pint is the heart of the whole book.  And quite a few other romances as well  What I don't understand is WHY?  Why is it, that one person in a relationship thinks they are not good enough, beautiful enough, man/woman enough, whatever enough for the person they supposedly love.  Do these people honestly think that their better half is an idiot?  They they would/could not choose the one person perfect for themselves.  Who ever said that you do no deserve happiness, joy, and love....well they lied.  Bit time lied?  Every one deserves all of the above.  Though the conflict does make for a great story line...

    The FBI, CIA, terrorists, ex-pats, shoot'em up, greed, love and finally acceptance, it;s all here in Braking  Point.  The characters are realistic and lovable.  You care what happens to them.  You cheer when the bad guys bite the dust and get ecstatic when things finally go right for our heroes.  Yes, there are two, maybe even three, depending on how you look at it, and it's a real twist in the storyline.

     My only complaint with Brockman's style of storytelling, at least in this book, is the timeline jumps.  In one chapter alone, the timeline jumps four time, present day, 17 months ago, 4 months ago, present day.  It made it a tad confusing for around two-thirds of the book, the BAM!  The story flew straight and narrow till the end.  It was fast paced and exciting!

     I like Braking Point and will recommend it.  I won't read is again, though I may try another Brockman book, just to see what it is like.  I five Braking Point 4 out of 5 WOOTS!
